About Free Radical Hippie
After a few decades working in education, it was time to think about the next few decades... normal retirment was an option and it would have been lovely - but kind of predictable. Also, when I turned 60, I declared myself untethered to conventional life/rules/expectations. It seemed only natural for Sofie (previously known as the Brown Hiking Dog), Dave (the best husband on the planet) and me to leave the beauty of the Sierra Nevada mountains for an open-ended adventure on the water.  Sofie is now the Brown Boating Dog. We took some sailing lessons, bought a yacht and began living full time aboard in March 2023. So far, the adventure has been fantastic! Lots of learning, some sore muscles, a few sketchy moments, and many gorgeous sunsets. I am looking forward to living (and blogging about) the free radical hippie life wherever/however that unfolds...keep up with the adventure by reading the blog.
